Description
Treatment for Open Evaporative Cooling Systems
Accepta CG821 is a multi-functional molybdate based scale and corrosion inhibitor for open cooling systems.
Accepta CG821 is a chlorine stable, non-volatile liquid corrosion inhibitor and scale dispersant for naturally soft and artificially softened waters. It is an alkaline molybdate based inhibitor containing threshold agents, dispersant and organic inhibitors to offer protection to multi-metal systems without the requirement of additional specific corrosion inhibitors.
Accepta CG821 is suitable for use with bromine based biocides and a regime of alternating non-oxidising biocides.
Biocide Recommendations
For Bromine treatment we recommend:
FD-BROM / AT-2343 & Activator 120 together these will provide bromine in liquid form
For Non-Oxidising Biocide treatment we recommend:
BC-ITA / AT-2827 & BCPS / AT-2302 dosed alternatively these non-oxidising biocides will maintain excellent control
Open Circuit Pre-Treatment Dosage
Like most film foaming corrosion inhibitors maximum protection is afforded if a pre-treatment period is adopted. Accepta CG821 is dosed at 3 times the normal dosage for a period of 5 days at the start of the treatment programme, enabling a strong film to be built up quickly. Similarly should the normal dosage be interrupted for any length of time, an elevated dosage for a short period of time will re-establish maximum protection in the shortest possible time.

Normal Dosage Rates
For open evaporative systems Accepta CG821 should be dosed to maintain a minimum reserve of 100ml/m3 in the system water at all times. For maximum control continuous dosing is desirable, using a water meter controlled dosing system.
Where the product is used for strainer cycle applications involving both fully softened make-up water and low cycles of concentration the maintenance of a minimum reserve of 150ml/m3 is recommended. In order to passivate a system prior to ongoing treatment it is recommended that a reserve of 200ml/m3 is maintained in circulation for a week prior to dropping the reserve to the normal application rate
