When cleaning a system containing Aluminium in conjunction with Copper a supplementary treatment of TT20 / AT-2334 is recommended

Description

Closed System Chemical Cleaning Agent

Description and Use

ACCEPTA CORROSPERSE 84 antifoulant is a non-acid blend of sequestering and dispersing agents for the removal of iron oxide, other metallic oxides and scale deposits from open and closed loop systems. It may also be used continuously at low levels to prevent deposits forming.

Dosage Rates

For pre-commission cleaning, a concentration of 1-2% by volume should be used and circulated within the heating system for a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 7 days.

For closed system restoration cleaning a concentration between 2.5-5% is normally required, dependent on the degree of fouling. The length of time required to effect a clean will again depend on the degree of fouling and the progress of chemical reactions can be monitored by a simple on-site test for iron levels at intervals over the following days, iron levels should increase as iron oxide is dissolved, once the results show a plateau the system should be ready to flush.

Warning

Whilst not aggressive to the parent metal ACCEPTA CORROSPERSE 84 is a powerful penetrant and will find any weakness in pipework or joints which is simply sealed by a layer of corrosion products. It is recommended therefore that in the restoration of old systems an initial concentration of 1% only be added and circulated for 2 days to ensure system is sound before proceeding further.

When cleaning a system containing Aluminium in conjunction with Copper a supplementary treatment – TT20 / AT-2334 should also be added at the rate of 1 litre/m3 of system capacity.

Typical Properties

Appearance…………………………. Clear liquid.

Colour………………………………… Colourless to pale yellow.

Odour………………………………… Ammonia.

Solubility……………………………. Soluble in water.

Relative density………………….. 1.30-1.40

pH-Value……………………………. 7-8

Always read the label and product information before use. See safety data sheet for safety and handling precautions

It is always advisable to carry out a ‘Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health’ (COSHH) assessment before use.
