Description
PT4F / AT-2320 is a high performance, combined scale and corrosion inhibitor for boilers & closed heating systems scientifically formulated for the treatment of boiler water systems & Closed Loop heating systems.
PT4F / AT-2320 comprises a blended liquid formulation based on organic tannin, polymer sludge conditioners, and alkali.
PT4F / AT-2320 can be used either by itself or in conjunction with other supplemental treatments to give a balanced treatment programme.
PT4F / AT-2320 does not add substantially to the boiler water alkalinity, and hence is an ideal treatment for boilers that are susceptible to foam formation.
PT4F / AT-2320 controls corrosion by the dual mechanism of oxygen scavenging and the formation of a corrosion resistant tannate film. It prevents scale formation by converting residual hardness salts to mobile non-adherent sludge that can be removed by blowdown in boilers.
Product Benefits
- Excellent tannin based scale and corrosion inhibitor for boilers.
- Does not add substantially to boiler water alkalinity.
- Ideal for boilers susceptible to foam formation.
- Ideal for heritage steam boiler applications – higher tannin concentration than other heritage marketed products
- Suitable for boilers containing copper plating.

Application & Dosage Information
The dosage of PT4F / AT-2320 depends on such variables as feedwater temperature, boiler blowdown and workload.
Recommended initial dosage rate
1 litre / 1000 litres of system water and make-up
Example Boiler control limits
pH 10+
Tannin Units: 12 – 20 / 120 – 200ppm
TDS: 3500mg/l max.
How to use it
PT4F should be added to the system at an initial dosage rate of 1 litre/ 1000 litres of system water content whenever the system is drained or loses a significant quantity of water then the additional PT4F should be added at the rate of 1 litre / 1000 litres of water added, with any adjustments based on the reserve.
It is always advisable to carry out a ‘Control Of Substances Hazardous to Health’ (COSHH) assessment before use.
