Description
2 Dipslide Incubator
Accepta’s compact Incubator 2 is specifically designed for the temperature controlled incubation of up to 2 dipslides at a preset temperature of 30°C.
Accepta’s Incubator 2 incorporates two heated dipslide cells that will securely hold either standard MicroSlide dip slides or non-screw top dipslides during the incubation period.
Key Benefits
- 2 dip slide capacity
- Compact design
- 30°C pre-set temperature
- Achieves temperature in 30mins
- High temperature protection
- 240V power supply (optional 12V power lead available)
Accepta’s compact 2 dipslide Incubator has been designed with industry standard heating technology to meet the incubation required for the HSE’s ACoP L8 regarding legionella control monitoring procedures involving the use of dip slides. It is specifically intended for those treatment engineers who have a routine requirement to monitor a single cooling tower.
There is no confusing set up as the incubator is factory set to 30°C, just plug it in and switch it on. The incubator will reach its preset incubation temperature of 30°C in approximately 30 minutes.
Running on the supplied 220/240V mains power lead or an optional 12V power lead for use in a standard car cigarette lighter socket, it is protected by an internal fuse and has an over-temp protection for safe extended use.
Simplicity of operation, maintenance free, 30 minute warm up period, the incubation of your dipslides couldn’t be easier!
Incubation of Dip slides
Dip slides are used to establish if the conditions present in a water system have the potential to encourage bacteria to multiply and grow.
Once the sample has been collected the dipslide must be incubated at a constant temperature of 30°C for 48 hours to obtain a true result.
A dipslide incubator is a critical component of any microbiological monitoring and control programme. A constant, carefully regulated incubation temperature is essential.
A lower incubation temperature may mean that the bacteria on the dip slide will grow more slowly and give a erroneous, low reading.
If the slide reading is artificially low then the treatment engineer may conclude that no corrective action is necessary and the system bacteria will be free to multiply and increase the risk to public health.
Conversely, if the incubation temperature is too high then the bacterial growth may be accelerated leading to a potentially false positive. This false high bacteria count can lead to unnecessary and expensive extra cleaning and treatment processes.
The UK Health & Safety Executives Approved Code of Practice and Guidance (ACoP) L8 dealing with the control of legionella bacteria in water systems requires weekly monitoring of microbiological activity. This can be achieved using Accepta’s dipslides and incubators.
