Residual chlorine or free chlorine is a measure of the amount of available chlorine remaining in a system after the chlorine demand has been satisfied.
Typical applications for the measurement of free or residual chlorine include:
- Potable water from water treatment plant
- Swimming pool waters
- Chlorine based sterilisation of water
- Borehole waters used for potable
- Range of industrial process applications where chlorine is used
